Obremski/Works Company (2024) - Photo by McCall McClellan

Obremski/Works is an AAPI equity-minded non-profit organization with an internationally presented creation-based dance company and Fellowships which both enhance the careers and lives of AAPI representing individuals.

The two equal cornerstones of the organization, Company and Fellowships, challenge established norms of AAPI individuals and shape what AAPI artistry means.

The company was founded in 2018 by Director and Choreographer Jesse Obremski in collaboration with Associate Founders Terrence D.M. Diable, Michael Greenberg, and Richard Sayama through their premiere film, No Words, which was presented at Lincoln Center through HBO and the Dance Films Associations. With an incredibly passionate group of artists from across America, Japan, and Taiwan, Obremski/Works brings thought-provoking performances, empathetic approaches, and life-affirming initiatives to our greater community.

In 2022, the company paved new pathways with the release of its inaugural AAPI Support Fellowship, The VISION Fellowship, for collegiate-attending AAPI artists, and in 2023, The VOYAGER Fellowship, for international AAPI artists in the United States. Obremski/Works further developed into an organization by becoming a 501(c)3 incorporated entity in late 2023.

The organization has been presented globally in three continents and multiple venues, including Lincoln Center and The Kennedy Center, and continues to expand its repertory and social activism to this day.
