Keiko Obremski (she/her) was born in Nagano, Japan. After graduating from Yokohama Vocational School of Broadcast and Film (predecessor of The Institute of the Moving Image) in 1977, Obremski started her theater career as an actress with the Japanese touring Theater Group: Tokyo Kid Brothers. In 1981-2 with the Tokyo Kid Brothers’ production “Shiro”, Obremski performed at The La MaMa Experimental Theatre in New York City, The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and across the United States.

Obremski moved to the United States and experienced many different types of careers, including motherhood. After raising two children, Obremski became a Costume Designer for school plays and summer camps. Obremski designed for TADA Youth Theater “Magic Pot: Three Tales from China”, and more. Obremski received a nomination from the National Youth Arts Award for her costume designs for “Up to You” by TADA Youth Theater.

Since 2011, Obremski has been a main costume designer for a Ukrainian Theater Company: Yara Arts Group. Recent design credits are “Forest Song” ”Dark Night Bright Star” and “Radio 477”. Other costume design credits are Off-Broadway productions including “Sayonara” Pan Asian Repertory and the Independent Film “Spirit Box”. Obremski has been in the wardrobe crew for The Metropolitan Opera, ABT Ballet, The Bolshoi Ballet, Lincoln Center Festival, “The Wiz, Live” for NBC, “Dickinson” the TV series, and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?”. Broadway shows include: “Beautiful”, “Scandalous”, “School of Rock”, “On The Town”, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, and many more. She is currently working on the Broadway production of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”.
